Abuela’s Pilon

This is dedicated to my beloved grandma, who I watched spend countless hours everyday in the kitchen making meals for all of us with this staple, mashing garlic, herbs, plantains – you name it. This is always the first tool I think of when I think of creating a homey kitchen and she recently gifted it to me just before I launched, not knowing about my launch or how much I’ve wanted it or how much of a core memory it is for me. Ironically, I get to give it back to her and show her through this. This is also dedicated to all the grandmas out there holding it down.
